The primary goal of Level Three Communications is that through a developmental process, learners will read with understanding, write clearly to successfully express ideas, and listen and speak effectively, all for a variety of purposes.

Engaging in the Adult Basic Education Level Three Social Sciences curriculum contributes to adult learners’ abilities to think critically and reflectively, to make informed decisions, and to be active participants in a culturally diverse society.

In Life/Work Studies, learners have the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge, and attitudes related to:

• lifelong learning,
• personal growth and development, and
• developing connections to community life and/or the labour market.

By building on prior knowledge and life experiences, the learner will develop basic math skills and apply them in contexts of work, life, or further training to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and communicate from a mathematical perspective.

The goal of ABE Level Three (Adult 10) Science is for learners to use scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes to:

• develop and apply the foundations of scientific literacy;
• broaden their definition of science; and
• participate and engage in relevant discussions, decision making, and inquiries
