JobStart/Future Skills Program - Quick Skills option provides funds to public training institutions to train the unemployed to meet industry requirements for skilled workers. Training should lead to ongoing permanent employment. The program also provides access to credit training in rural and northern Saskatchewan.

Employers and industry sectors should contact the nearest SIAST campus, Regional College, Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies or the Dumont Technical Institute to discuss their training needs. Priority will be given to proposals demonstrating strong prospects of ongoing employment for trainees, particularly for the designated groups.

Individuals interested in training should also contact their nearest training institution. For programs lasting 12 weeks or more, trainees can apply for student loans. Training allowances may also be available for eligible trainees for programs that are less than 12 weeks.
