Welcome

The Status of Women Office (SWO) is a branch of Advanced Education, Employment and Labour, and serves as a resource to government on policy direction affecting the status of women in Saskatchewan.

Our mandate is to monitor programs, services and initiatives of the Government of Saskatchewan to determine their impact on women and on families and to recommend modifications to those programs, services and initiatives.

In 2008-09, the Status of Women Office (SWO) contracted with an external agency to develop 11 socio-demographic profiles of Saskatchewan women. The 11 women profiles were prepared primarily from 2006 Census data to provide a point-in-time analysis of the status of women and a snapshot of gender equality in Saskatchewan.

The profiles and related documents contained in this section focus on women in the workplace.

The Status of Women Office (SWO) provides information on funding sources and financial support for women and families that are available from various levels of government and from private organizations.

The following information is an overview of special events and key dates that are significant to women and families.

This directory provides a comprehensive list of women's organizations and agencies that offer services to women in Saskatchewan. The online directory is updated quarterly and offers search capability.

The Status of Women Office (SWO) has compiled archival resources as reference materials.  Please refer to the resource descriptions for a summary of the topic context and publishing dates.
